If you need to remember a few passwords, finding a solution shouldn't be difficult, but it is a different story if the employees of a large company need to remember their login credentials. In this situation, each employee would need a password manager, which can be quite expensive if someone decides to go for a paid one. A good alternative is Network Password Manager. This application allows everyone to store their usernames and passwords in a central location, without any kind of risks.

Network Password Manager is priced according to how many people will use it. If you intend to use it only for yourself, then you can have the application for free. It can be installed quickly, without any effort. Also, a few settings can be made during the installation process, like enabling certain options or including the freeware license for one user. The application works straight out of the box, so you don't have to install any prerequisite tools.

Despite its simplicity, Network Password Manager still offers a good selection of tools. The first thing you need to know is that it relies on a client-server functionality. The client can be installed on any employee's computer, but the server module has to be installed on an administrator's machine. As long as the server is running, you only need to specify the computer's name and domain, as well as the login credentials of your Windows user account.

Once you are connected to the server, you can start creating records without any difficulties. The client interface resembles a standard explorer window and it presents only a few simple options. You can select them to create new folders and records, edit or delete existing ones, manage the security settings for each record and more. Creating a new record does not involve anything more than filling in a series of input fields with relevant information. When you reach the password field, you can use the application's built-in password generator to create long and complex passwords instantly, with a single click. Besides inserting information, it is also possible to set an expiration date and to attach files.

A record's information is displayed on the main interface, on which you can also view its attached files, but on a separate tab. Of course, the password is hidden, but you can display it for a short amount of time. The username, password and URL can be copied to the clipboard with a single click. The best part is that Network Password Manager will clear the clipboard automatically after 15 seconds, so you can make sure that no important information is left unprotected.

Pros

The application allows multiple users to manage their passwords in the same location, over a network. It uses a powerful encryption protocol to protect any sensible information.

Cons

You can't modify the countdown for the clipboard clearing feature. Network Password Manager enables an entire company to manage passwords, in a single location, without any kind of difficulties.
